October 2008
Dear Sugar City Residents:
CITY CLEANUP: On October 13 we will start city cleanup in the southwest part of the city. We do not know how fast we can move along so everyone should be ready on Monday, October 13. No tires, batteries, oil, chemicals, or pieces of concrete will be picked up. Once the crew passes a place, we cannot afford to back track. The resident will be responsible for removing anything after the city crew goes by the resident’s place.
This time of year there is an urge to burn leftover garden debris and leaves. Often these are moist and smolder. Regardless, the smoke is offensive to neighbors. PLEASE get your garden debris and leaves ready to be picked up on our citywide cleanup.
SAVE MONEY!!! STOP WATERING BY OCTOBER 31ST. THIS WILL KEEP THE SEWER PORTION OF YOUR BILL LOWER.
VETERANS MONUMENT: As most of you are aware, we are adding two additional monuments to complete our project. The criteria are simple. We begin with the graduates of Sugar-Salem High School, plus any veterans that have or do reside in this geographic area. All branches of service are included. Our final list for the last two monuments is about complete. If you have any questions about someone, you can check in city hall. Janette Clark is in charge of getting and organizing these names. If you have questions, please check soon because our deadline for getting the names to our engraver is nearly here.
