CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS: A special thanks to our Tree and Beautification Committee and our city employees for the attractive Center Street Christmas lights. We also appreciate the decorations at the gazebo and the trees in Heritage Park, as well as the decorations inside and outside of City Hall.
DOG LICENSES: All dog licenses expired December 31st. Resolution 2009-6, approved and passed by the city council on December 10, 2009, sets the licensing fee for each dog at $12 for each calendar year commencing on January 1, 2010. Penalties for an unlicensed dog start at $100. We now have the new tags for 2014. Please come into City Hall anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and get your dog ready for the New Year!
OVERNIGHT PARKING: JUST A REMINDER OF OUR SNOW ORDINANCE – NO PARKING IS ALLOWED ON CITY STREETS FROM DECEMBER 1ST THROUGH MARCH 1ST, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 12 O’CLOCK MIDNIGHT AND 7 O’CLOCK A.M. THIS IS THE TIME WHEN MOST SNOW IS CLEARED FROM THE STREETS.
NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES, INCLUDING FOUR–WHEELERS OR SNOWMOBILES, ARE ALLOWED IN CITY PARKS. (City Code section 6-3-5 B 2)
SNOW REMOVAL: The city council has directed the city employees to do their best to remove the snow berm created by the snowplow and grader (no intent to clear driveways). They are concerned about damaging property in the process. We cannot assume liability for any damage that occurs. If under these conditions you would prefer that we not attempt to remove the snow berm in front of your driveway, please inform us and we will not attempt to remove it.
