Dear Sugar City Residents:

CABLE ONE FRANCHISE:

The current Cable One franchise agreement with the city is due to be renewed on or before November 12, 2009.  The Cable Act requires that the public be given both notice of the proposed franchise renewal and an opportunity for participation in the franchise renewal process.  It will be an agenda item for the city council meeting on May 28th.  Please plan to attend and give your input.

TOWN INFORMATIONAL MEETING:  The Planning and Zoning Commission is calling a town meeting on Tuesday, May 12 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.  They are proposing a new city zoning map.  At a later date there will be a public hearing.  You can find a copy of the proposed map on the city Web site; and if you cannot get to the Web site, you can come to City Hall and pick up a copy.  If you would like to comment and cannot make it to the meeting, would you submit your comments prior to the meeting to City Hall either in the drop box or in person.

JOB OPENING:  Part-time receptionist needed.  Inquire at city hall.

DOG LICENSE:  Due to the new dog ordinance that is about to be passed, the city council passed a motion at the April 23 city council meeting, extending dog licenses this year by 6 months.  They will now expire on Dec. 31, 2009 instead of May 1, 2009.  This will be at no cost to the citizens.  If your dog does not have a license, now is the time to come get a free license through Dec 31, 2009.  New licenses will be needed for all dogs starting January 1, 2010.
