December 2012

Dear Sugar City Residents:

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE:  We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very enjoyable holiday season.  With the nation’s economic crisis ever on the horizon, we all need to be concerned about friends and neighbors who have been adversely affected by this crisis.  With a little extra effort we can be sure that everyone can enjoy Christmas and the holiday season.

In order that no one is overlooked in this effort, may we all be reminded of Him whose birthday we celebrate and the joy of giving and sharing with others in need.  In all doings and celebrating, we need to be optimistic and look up instead of down.  We need to remember that we can’t look up and down at the same time.  An enthusiastic, optimistic outlook is contagious, uplifting and motivating.

HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICKUP:  Since Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on a weekday this year, garbage will be picked up on Friday, December 28, and Friday, January 4.

OVERNIGHT PARKING REMINDER:  No parking is allowed on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 o’clock midnight and 7 o’clock a.m.  We intend to remove snow between the hours of midnight and 7 or 8 a.m.

SNOW REMOVAL:  The city council has directed the city employees to do their best to remove the snow berm created by the snowplow and grader (no intent to clear driveways).  They are concerned about damaging property in the process.  We cannot assume liability for any damage that occurs.  If under these conditions you would prefer that we not attempt to remove the snow berm in front of your driveway, please inform us and we will not attempt to remove it.
