OCTOBER 2018
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
MEDICAID GAP: The City of Sugar City would like to encourage its citizens to become aware of Proposition 2. This relates to Medicaid expansion that would cover the current gap in eligibility. The city does not take a stand on issues such as these, but you can find additional information from a link on our city website: sugarcityidaho.gov.
WATER METERS: Last meter reading of this year will be taken at the end of this month. To help save money, stop outdoor watering by October 31st.
UTILITY FEE INCREASE: Utility fees for water will increase this October. The base fee for customers is going up from $34.00 per month to $45.00. The water usage rate is going up .05¢, from .90¢ to .95¢ per thousand gallons of usage. You will notice the increase on your November billing. Please call if you have questions.
CITY WIDE CLEAN–UP: The date for city clean–up to begin is October 15th. Please do not put items out on the roads or alleys more than one week ahead of time. If you have items that you need to discard before the city clean–up, please note that we have a dumpster on the west side of Silo Park off of North Front & C Street. Please follow these guidelines for items to be removed or placed in the dumpster.
leaves and grass clippings unless they are bagged,
large remodeling materials, roofing, large pieces of concrete and tires,
hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals, batteries, & used oil.
Please do not fill alleys after city clean–up until the week before the next clean–up in the spring. Storing debris is a violation of city code 3-1-13:A.
ALLEY CLUTTER: We have noticed that many of the city alleys are being used to park campers, trailers, fire wood and other debris. Please remember that these city easements are for utility services, city equipment and emergency equipment only.

Dear Friends,
MAYOR’S MONTHLY MESSAGE
This is such a beautiful time of year, that I can’t help but feel good about everything. It is also a time of year that we are all trying to prepare our yards and our homes for the winter we know is coming. The Tree and Beautification Committee has done a great job of identifying those yards and gardens that have excelled. Thanks to them for this.
My wife and I spent some time recently in our family cabin in Island Park. We were there as the leaves were turning such wonderful colors. We enjoy this time of year, and it was great to see what nature has to offer. Thank you for helping to keep Sugar City a beautiful place to live.
Many of you may have had someone coming around to sign a petition to recall Brent Barrus and myself. The city will not take any stance on this issue. All that I would recommend is that if you have any questions about what is being represented to you, that you are welcome to come into the city and ask for any of the facts, so that you may make an informed decision.
Thank you for your support of the city. We are here to help you and welcome any recommendations.
Sincerely,
David D. Ogden Mayor
