VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Tree and Beautification Committee is in need of volunteers to help out with the city’s events such as our Arbor Day Program, Sugar Days and Christmas Tree Lighting. Please call city hall for details if you are interested. Thank you!
GO PAPERLESS WITH E–BILLING! We really appreciate all of those who have signed up for e–billing. We would like to encourage our citizens to sign up. If you are interested, go to www.paymentservicenetwork.com and register as a first time user. You may opt out of paper bills there. If you go paperless, you will be sent an email each month telling you that your bill is ready to view at this website. You can view the newsletter here or at sugarcityidaho.gov.
**SEWAGE PROBLEMS**: The city has been experiencing sewage back–up problems because of items such as feminine products and even their packaging having been flushed down toilets. Please remember to not flush items such as these. Sewage back up into homes can be very costly for you to take care of.
METER READINGS: The city will start reading meters again at the end of March. Your bill due in April will reflect the actual usage over the winter months. OVERNIGHT PARKING: Beginning March 1st, our snow ordinance is no longer in effect. We have appreciated your cooperation in not parking on the streets this winter. SPRING CLEANUP: The tentative date for cleanup is May 18th. This will be the last city–wide clean–up as currently provided by the city, due to rising costs. Per decision of the city council on December 12, 2019, it was decided starting next October to supply a second dumpster for city cleanup for the months of May and October.
DOG LICENSE REMINDER: Licenses expired Dec. 31st. Cost is $15 per year. Make sure your pets are up to date. If you have a photo of your pet to put on file this would also be helpful if they are lost.
BUSINESS LICENSE REMINDER: Business licenses expired on Dec 31st. Home business licenses are $10. Other business licenses are $20. Please come in to renew them at city hall. Thank you!
**SEWER AND WATER EMERGENCIES** We would like to remind all residents that in case of an emergency such as a water leak or sewer issue that happens after hours or on weekend, you can call city hall and there is an emergency option that will transfer you to our public works director. The sooner you call the better to avoid more complications.
