PUBLIC HEARINGS: There will be public hearings on August 13th at 6:30 p.m. concerning a  proposed sewer rate increase, city wide cleanup and fee increase, fees for infractions and the  budget for fiscal year 2020/2021. Information for the hearings is at city hall or online  https://www.sugarcityidaho.gov/ along with ZOOM information to attend electronically. You  may also attend in person unless the Health District requirements change to not allow for it.

TREE TRIMMING:  

The city will be trimming trees on the  roads and in the alleys to make access  easier for emergency and city vehicles to  pass through. Please do not have any  items or waste in the alleys. If you do not  want the city trimming any of your trees  or bushes, please have them trimmed  back from the alleys and roads  beforehand. Tree branches must be

NO DUMPING OF YARD WASTE OR ITEMS IN CITY: Dumping at the end of streets or in alleys is not  allowed. City Code 3-1-8: “Responsibility for Disposal:  A: Owners: No person shall deposit refuse on or  below the surface of the ground other than in a  manner prescribed in this chapter. No person shall  deposit or bury any refuse in or upon a public alley,  street, other public area or upon the premises of  another person, whether or not the refuse is in an  approved container. No refuse of any kind shall be  thrown, swept or pushed into the street in front of  any premises. The owner of the premises shall be  responsible for the disposal of all such refuse.” Please  remove any items or waste from public alleys to avoid  health and safety hazards and possible citations. 

BURNING WITHIN THE CITY: County guidelines must be  followed. You can register and read regulations for  burning at the following website:  

http://fdmadison.org/.  

trimmed up from the ground to a height  of 12 feet. Bushes along roads must be  trimmed down to a height of no more  than 3 feet. 

SPRINKLER SYSTEMS: If you didn’t have a  test on your sprinkler system backflow  preventer done last year, please have  one done this year and mail your report  to city hall. This is necessary to ensure  that contamination of the water supply  will not happen in the event of a  pressure loss to the water system. Thank  you to those that have already brought  in test results.  

SEWAGE PROBLEMS: Our city insurance  provider has asked us to remind all  citizens, “… of the importance of NOT  flushing flushable wipes, sanitizer wipes,  paper towels or anything else that isn’t  toilet paper.” Please help us prevent  sewer backups by disposing of these  items in some other way.  

UTILITY BILLING & PAYMENTS:  

No cash or in-office payments please to lessen contact due to COVID.  

We are requesting those that have computers and internet access create an account at  https://www.info.paymentservicenetwork.com/ (PSN) to receive bills electronically. You  may also go to https://www.sugarcityidaho.gov/ under “PAY BILLS & FEES” tab & click on  “PAY UTILITY BILL” to create an account. Creating this account for e-billing does not require  you to pay through this website. Thank you for your cooperation. 

For utility payments you may (listed in preference): 

  1. Pay online at PSN (PAYMENT SERVICE NETWORK); you may set up for paperless billing here and auto-pay if desired. If you set up auto-pay at PSN, a convenience fee of $1.00 will be applied to checking and savings payments. A convenience fee of 2.75% will be applied to

credit card payments. An additional 50¢ is applied for payments below $100. 2. Pay at https://www.sugarcityidaho.gov/ under “PAY BILLS & FEES” tab and you may “PAY  WATER BILL DIRECTLY” from checking or savings account with no fees. 3. Set up bill pay through your own financial institution, which sends  

a check (allow at least 5 days for city to receive check).
