ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING & LIVE NATIVITY: Mark your calendars! The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is Monday, December 7th at Heritage Park at 5:30 p.in. by the gazebo. This year there are some changes to the festivities. Santa will be making an appearance and one of his helpers will be collecting letters as the children will not have an opportunity to visit personally with Santa. Families may participate from their vehicles parked along the west side of the park, or gather in the park, We encourage those at high risk

to remain in their vehicles and those choosing to gather in the park to keep distance between households. We are excited that local church groups are providing a drive-by live nativity on the south side of Heritage Park near the gazebo starting that night and going through the 19th of December from 6:00 p,in. to 8:00 p.in., so after seeing Santa,

you can drive by and enjoy the nativity scene.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES: City Hall will be closed December 24th through 25th and at 12:00 noon December 31th through January lst for Christmas and New Year’s.

HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICK-UP: Garbage will be picked up on Saturday, December 26th, due to Christmas and on January 2nd due to New Years.

PLANNING & ZONING PUBLIC HEARINGS: December 3rd at 7:00 p.in, for 2 Special Use Permit Applications. One application is for Sun-Glo’s addition with a request for reduced parking requirements and the other permit is for an emergeney communications tower to be located at the Madison County Search & Resoue building in the Sugar City Business Park.

UTILITY RATE INCREASES: You should have seen an increase to the sewer rates in your November utility bill. The total increase was 13 cents per thousand gallons of usage going from $3.30 to $3.43. This pays the increased treatment fees. There was also an increase to the garbage collection fees of $3.15.

SNOW REMOVAL: Keep cars uncovered from snow and parked back off of roads to eliminate being clipped by the snowplows. Also please remember our snow ordinance – no parking on city streets from December lst through March lst, between the hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.in.

DOG LICENSE REMINDER: Licenses expire Dec. 31st. New dog tags are currently available at city hall. The cost is $15
