PUSHING & BLOWING SNOW INTO ROADS:

We ask that you do not push or blow snow into the roads. The public  works department spends long hours late in the night to clear our city  roads and residents are blowing snow back into the roads afterwards.  Please see city code 4-2-5.

SNOW REMOVAL & OVERNIGHT PARKING: Our snow ordinance states  no parking on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between

the hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.m. There is also no parking of vehicles or trailers in alleys at any time. We also ask if it  snows during the day and plows are out, to move vehicles off the street. Keep cars uncovered from snow and parked  back off of roads and please pull into driveways further to stay clear of the snowplows. The city will not be clearing  driveways to avoid damaging property in the process. We cannot assume liability for any damage that occurs. The city  plows when we receive 3 inches or more of snow, the cost of which is roughly $2500.00 each time. This covers wages,  fuel, cutting edges and equipment maintenance.

LEASH LAW: There have been several complaints of dogs without a leash and leaving deposits in the yards of  our residents. To avoid fines, please license your pets, keep them on a leash and remove any waste they leave  anywhere along your walk.

City Code 4-4-6 ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE:

It is unlawful for any animal or animals to run at large on any of the streets, alleys or public places within the city limits.  Any owner or custodian of any animal, who allows the animal to run at large within Sugar City, is guilty of an infraction.

KENNEL LICENSES: Kennel licenses are required for more than two dogs. Kennel licenses are annual and  expired on December 31st. If you had a kennel license, please come into city hall to pick up a new application  for 2022.

DOG LICENSES: If you did not obtain or renew your dog license in 2021, please come in and purchase a lifetime tag.  Licenses are required. Licenses are $15.00 per pet for their lifetime. If you have a photo of your pet to put on file this  would also be helpful.

BUSINESS LICENSES: Business licenses expired Dec 31st. Commercial licenses are $20.00. Home businesses are  $10.00. You may send in a check to pay for your license and a new license will be mailed to you. (Do not combine with  utility payment; it must be a separate check.)
