Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

GO PAPERLESS WITH E-BILLING! We really appreciate all of those who have  signed up for e-billing. We would like to encourage our citizens to sign up. If you  are interested, go to www.paymentservicenetwork.com and register as a first time  user. You may opt out of paper bills there. If you go paperless, you will be sent an  email each month telling you that your bill is ready to view.

METER READINGS: The city will start reading meters again at the end of March.  Your bill due in April will reflect the actual usage over the winter months.

OVERNIGHT PARKING: Beginning March 1st, our snow ordinance will no longer  be in effect. We have appreciated those cooperating in not parking on the streets  this winter.

UPDATED PARKING ORDINANCE: Please read the updated parking ordinance in its entirety at sugarcityidaho.gov under Rules,  City Code,

6-1-2 Parking Regulations:

  1. 3. Parking Prohibited for Extended Periods: No person shall park a vehicle upon any street, alley or public property for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) hours, i.e., 5 days or longer unless specifically allowed by permit. Movement of a vehicle on a street, alley, or other public property to another area on the same street or within the same  block shall constitute continuous and uninterrupted parking or storage in the same location.
  2. A. 4. No Parking in Alleys: No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle or item within an alley except during the necessary, active, and expeditious loading or unloading of merchandise, supplies or materials. Such loading or unloading shall not exceed twenty (20) minutes….

LEASH LAW: There have been several complaints of dogs without a leash and leaving deposits in the yards of our  residents. To avoid fines, please license your pets, keep them on a leash and remove any waste they leave anywhere along  your walk.

City Code 4-4-6 ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE:

It is unlawful for any animal or animals to run at large on any of the streets, alleys or public places within the city limits. Any owner  or custodian of any animal, who allows the animal to run at large within Sugar City, is guilty of an infraction.

KENNEL LICENSES: Kennel licenses are required for more than two dogs. Kennel licenses are annual and expired on  December 31st. If you had a kennel license, please come into city hall to pick up a new application for 2022.

DOG LICENSES: If you did not obtain or renew your dog license in 2021, please come in and purchase a lifetime tag. Licenses are  required. Licenses are $15.00 per pet for their lifetime. If you have a photo of your pet to put on file this would also be helpful.

BUSINESS LICENSES: Business licenses expired Dec 31st. Commercial licenses are $20.00. Home businesses are $10.00. You may  send in a check to pay for your license and a new license will be mailed to you. (Do not combine with utility payment; it must be  a separate check.)

**SEWER AND WATER EMERGENCIES** We would like to remind all residents that in case of an emergency such as a water leak or  sewer issue that happens after hours or on weekend, you can call city hall and there is an emergency option that will transfer you to  our public works director. The sooner you call the better to avoid more complications.
