THINK: Watering: Because of our warm March weather, we read the water meters at the end of February. This means you will see an adjustment to your water bill based on how good our winter estimate was. This also means you can start watering again.
Flower Barrel Fund: The Beautification Committee is looking forward to a beautiful wind and frost free spring and summer. There will be live flowers blooming in the barrels on Center Street. We appreciate your donations to fund this project. Please drop off any contributions at City Hall.
Spring Cleanup: Due to the early spring, spring cleanup will begin on April 13th. Since it is expensive for the crews to backtrack, we will be unable to accommodate backtrack requests. Due to regulations, please be reminded first, we cannot pick up leaves and grass clippings unless they are bagged. Second, we cannot pick up large projects such as remodeling materials, roofing, large pieces of concrete, tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, and used oil. Please cut tree limbs to ten-foot lengths or less. Please remove all vehicles and trailers from the alleys and have everything ready for pickup by April 13th. The city has placed a dumpster on the west side of town just north of the old elevator which is available for spring cleanup debris. Please, no household garbage.
Large Vehicle Ordinance in Effect April 1st: Reminder that as of April 1st, our Large Vehicle Ordinance is in effect. Please visit City Hall with any questions.
Arbor Day Celebration: As Sugar City is an official Tree City, USA, the Tree
and Beautification Committee will be holding an Arbor Day Celebration on April 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. near the gazebo in Heritage Park where a new tree will be planted. Students from the Kershaw School are participating in and Arbor Day Art Contest and the winners will be honored at that tree planting ceremony. The public is welcome to attend.
Credit Card Payment Option: Never write another check? You don’t have to when you pay your Sugar City utility bill online. Go to: SugarCityIdaho.gov. We accept eCheck, MasterCard, VISA & Discover.
Mailbox Placement: Because of the changes in the Rental Fee Rules for post office boxes, many in the city will be installing individual mail boxes. Please be careful not to install them where it would be a hazard to the city crews moving snow, such as close to your driveway. The city cannot be liable for any damages that may occur from the normal operation of its snow removal equipment
