PIONEER COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: The Pioneer Community Breakfast was just plain excellent in every way. It was a beautiful morning. Nearly 700 people were served a superb breakfast. Although at times there was a short line, it moved quickly. The folks seemed to enjoy visiting. A number of former families and friends attended. The display presented by Maureen McKay of the DUP (Daughters of Utah Pioneers) added a nice touch and created considerable interest. Once again, the music provided by Pam and Ivan Gerdes was very enjoyable.
We wish to thank all who helped in any way to make the activity possible, including our city maintenance crew and all the cooks and servers. Several commented that the food was the best ever. A special thanks is extended to Joe
Cherrington for organizing everyone and everything for the breakfast. What a tremendous well-done job. Also, a special thanks is extended to Vaun Waddell for overseeing the entire activity in behalf of the mayor and city council. We express our appreciation for all who attended and made the activity a great
success.
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE REPORT: Our Consumer Confidence Report for 2009 has been submitted to the DEQ. We have a copy of it here at City Hall for any interested citizen to read. It reports on the quality of our water, which is excellent.
START OF SCHOOL: School starts Wednesday, August 25. We caution everyone to drive carefully and watch for children.
CURFEW: A reminder that we have a curfew ordinance. The curfew is for all minors and is in effect between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, beginning on Sundays and running until Thursdays of each week; and from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day on Saturday and Sunday mornings (commonly known as Friday and Saturday nights from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.).
