OVERNIGHT PARKING REMINDER: No parking is allowed on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 o’clock midnight and 7 o’clock a.m. We intend to remove snow between the hours of midnight and 7 or 8 a.m.
HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICKUP: Since Christmas Day and New Year’s Day both fall on Saturdays this year, garbage will be picked up on the regular Thursdays each week.
CORRECTION TO NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER: We inadvertently reported in the November newsletter that alleyways are city property. However, the city does have a 20-foot right-of-way in said alleys. Said alleys must be kept clean of all rubbish, etc., except for two weeks before fall and spring cleanup. Thanks for helping to keep our city clean.
CHRISTMAS MESSAGE: We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very enjoyable holiday season. With the nation’s economic crisis ever on the horizon, we all need to be concerned about friends and neighbors who have been adversely affected by this crisis. With a little extra effort we can be sure that everyone can enjoy Christmas and the holiday season.
In order that no one or family is overlooked in this effort, may we all be reminded of Him whose birthday we celebrate and the joy of giving and sharing with others in need. In all doings and celebrating, we need to be optimistic and look up instead of down. We need to remember that we can’t look up and down at the same time. An enthusiastic, optimistic outlook is contagious, uplifting and motivating.
