ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING: The Christmas Tree
Lighting ceremony is Monday, December 7th at Heritage Park
at 6 p.m. by the gazebo. Come and enjoy hot chocolate,
cookies and Santa Claus!
HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICKUP: Garbage will be picked up as normal on Thursday December 24th and Thursday, December 31st.
PUBLIC HEARING DECEMBER 3RD: The Planning and Zoning Commission will be holding several public hearings on Thursday, December 3rd concerning the proposed annexation of 56 acres of the Larsen and Neeley properties. There will also be one regarding Old Farm Estates proposed zone changes, Comprehensive Plan and land use map, and preliminary plat approval.
PUBLIC HEARING DECEMBER 10th: The City Council will be holding two public hearings on Thursday, December 10th concerning the proposed grant activities for public facility improvements. There will be another public reading regarding the proposed annexation and zone classification for the Larsen & Neeley properties.
CITY HALL CLOSURE: City Hall will be closed on Friday, December 25th in observance of Christmas.
PLANNING AND ZONING MEETING: The regular planning and zoning meeting on Thursday, December 17th is canceled due to the holiday.
COUNCIL MEETING: The regular council meeting on Thursday, December 24th is canceled due to the holiday.
OVERNIGHT PARKING REMINDER: No parking is allowed on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 o’clock midnight and 7 o’clock a.m.
SNOW REMOVAL: The city council has directed the city employees to do their best to remove the snow berm created by the snowplow and grader (no intent to clear driveways). They are concerned about damaging property in the process. We cannot assume liability for any damage that occurs. If under these conditions you would prefer that we do not attempt to remove the snow berm in front of your driveway, please inform us and we will not attempt to remove it.
LOADER OPERATOR NEEDED: If you have experience in heavy equipment for snow removal and are interested in working for the City please contact City Hall.
