COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: SATURDAY, JULY 23, FROM 7 A.M. TO 10 A.M., AT HERITAGE PARK.
THANKS FOR THE WORK: We would like to thank the city tree and beautification committee as well as all others who helped by donating money and planting the flowers in the barrels on Center Street. Our thanks go to the city employees for the well–kept parks & streets. Overall, our city appears to be well kept and is truly a beautiful city.
STAKE SERVICE PROJECT: Sincere thanks are extended to all volunteers who helped with the service project on June 29. The work projects were monumental and were completed by a large number of energetic, enthusiastic workers. Surfaces were prepared and 28 gallons of paint applied, one gallon of redwood stain applied, 10 yards of concrete poured and finished, approximately 2800 slats were installed in a new chain link fence, weeds were removed around playground equipment and bark around the trees was adjusted, and crosswalks were painted for the schools and for a designated parking lot at Heritage Park. Also, considerable work was done at the cemetery.
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE REPORT: Our Consumer Confidence Report for 2010 has been submitted to the DEQ. We have a copy of it here at City Hall for any interested citizen to read. It reports on the quality of our water, which is excellent.
JULY CELBRATIONS: During the month of July we celebrate Independence Day and honor the Pioneers who settled this area. May we be ever grateful for the gift of freedom we enjoy in the United States of America and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for this gift. May we also remember pioneers who planned this city including the laying out of the streets, planting trees and solving the many other challenges that go with developing a city. We encourage each family to spend a few minutes on the 4th & 24th–to encourage appropriate celebration and appreciation.
