OTHER ANIMALS IN CITY LIMITS: ROOSTERS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN CITY LIMITS! Please review Sugar City Code 4-4-4 at https://sugarcityidaho.gov/under “Rules” and “City Code” to review what animals are allowed. Animals other than the listed. household pets are not allowed unless they were already approved before Ordinance 318-2016 was adopted on 7/28/16 and a non–conforming animal use permit was approved and continued with annual permit applications and approval. For more information contact city hall.
DOGS IN CITY: Licenses from City Hall are required. Only 2 per household are allowed. To avoid $150 fines, please license your pets, keep them on a leash and remove any waste they leave anywhere along your walk.
FENCE PERMITS ARE REQUIRED: If you are putting in a new fence this year, remember to come into city hall and fill out a fence permit. There is no fee unless the fence is taller than six feet.
SPRINKLER SYSTEMS: Backflow preventers are required on all sprinkler systems. If you didn’t have a test on your sprinkler system backflow preventer done last year, please have one done this year and return your report to City Hall or email it to ajacobson@sugarcityidaho.gov. This is necessary to ensure that contamination of the water supply will not happen in the event of a pressure loss to the water system. Thank you to those that have already brought in test results. Odd numbered addresses are to be tested in odd numbered years and even numbered addresses are to be tested in even numbered years. If you have an odd numbered address and did not test last year, those need to be tested this year also. Thank you for your cooperation!
CITY DUMPSTER: The city dumpster will most likely be removed at the end of July. The city will not be able to continue its dumpster service for the remainder of this year because of the rising cost.
STREET AND ALLEY CLUTTER:
We have noticed that many of the city streets and alleys are being used to park campers, trailers, fire wood and other debris. Please remember that city easements are for utility services, city equipment and emergency equipment only. Please park and place all personal items on your own property, not in alleys or on streets.
**Storing debris on streets or alleys is a violation of city code 3-1-13:A. Storing items on streets or alleys is a violation of city code 6-1-2:A.**
