Dear Sugar City Residents:  

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! 

TETON DAM MARATHON, June 14: This  

event is held annually on the second Saturday in  

June. Full marathon starts at the Teton Dam site to  Rexburg’s Smith Park, individual or relay. Half  

Marathon, 10K, and 5K runs start and end at  

Rexburg’s Smith Park. Award’s ceremony will take  

place at 11 a.m. in Rexburg’s Smith Park.

Full marathon and relay runners pass through Sugar City around  8:00 to 8:30 a.m., entering the city past the substation at Digger  Drive and 3rd South, north along Digger Drive and around the high  school, west down Center Street and around the corner of Heritage  Park, exiting along South Teton Ave.  

SPRING CLEANUP: Cleanup was completed on May 21st. The city  hauled 53 truckloads of debris from town. Thank you for your  participation.  

ANIMAL ORDINANCE: A new ordinance involving animals other than  canines was passed on May 8, 2014. You can view a copy at City Hall.  Some sections include: Maltreatment of Animals, Animal Fights, Herding  Animals, Keeping of Certain Animals Prohibited, Nuisance Animals,  Animals Running at Large, Impoundment of Animals, Domestic Hens,  and Beehives.  

ATV LAWS REMINDER: With summer fast approaching the use of ATV  such as four-wheelers has increased. A reminder that driving  unregistered ATVs on city roads is against the law. ATV may be driven  on city roads if they comply with the following:  

Vehicle must be licensed  

Operator must be licensed and be carrying it while  

driving 

Helmets must be worn under the age of 18  

ATVs cannot be driven on highways or freeways (which  includes Center Street in Sugar City)  

Operators must observe ALL roadway laws 

FREE AIR SHOW IN REXBURG, June 14: Admission is free. It starts at  9 a.m. and goes to 1 p.m. at the Legacy Flight Museum, Airport Road.  

MAPS: The city has received some very nice color road maps of  Rexburg and Sugar City and the surrounding area. If you would like one  you are welcome to come in and pick one up for free.
