EASTER EGG HUNT: Mark your calendars for March 31st at 9:00 a.m. at Sugar City Smith Park for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. For ages 10 and under.
NEW CITY LOGO:
Take our survey at sugarcityidaho.gov to give your input on a new city logo design. Deadline is March 7th,
OVERNIGHT PARKING: Beginning March 1st, our snow ordinance is no longer in affect. We have appreciated your cooperation in not parking on the streets this winter.
SPRING CLEANUP: The city has set a tentative date of May 21st to start spring cleanup. Please do not put items out on the roads or alleys more than one week ahead of time. A dumpster will soon be placed on the west side of Silo Park off of North Front & C Street for items that you need to discard before the city clean–up.
Reminder: Household garbage is not allowed at the dumpster.

DOG LICENSES: Please come into City Hall to get your dog registered if you haven’t already done so. Cost is $15.00 per animal.
REVERSE 911 SYSTEM: We would like to encourage all citizens to sign up for Reverse 911. Go to madisonsheriff.com under Alert Sense and it will take you to the page to subscribe for emergency notifications.
GO PAPERLESS WITH E–BILLING! We really appreciate all of those who have signed up for e–billing. We would like to encourage our citizens to sign up. If you are interested, go to www.paymentservicenetwork.com and register as a first time user. You may opt out of paper bills there. Dear City Residents,
It seems that winter has decided to return to Sugar City after a few weeks of inordinately warm and dry weather. However, do not despair Spring is just around the corner. March 20th is the first day of Spring, and I am sure we will see it soon. This brings spring cleaning, and needed repairs. The city will also be doing some spring cleaning and preparing our parks and other areas for your use.
We did have a few problems with parking on the streets during the winter time, but as of tomorrow, that will be over. For the most part everyone was very good about keeping off the streets between December 1 and March 1. We did not have to plow the snow very often, but it helps when we do. Thank you. We also had a few problems with some who pushed their snow out into the streets. It is against city code to do so, and we would ask your help so that it does not end up in your neighbor’s driveway or as a hazard for those driving on the roads. Thanks for your cooperation.
The new water project is going forward now that the Bond has been passed, and the formal documents have been signed by the city and the Department of Environmental Quality who is financing the Bond. I am grateful for the participation of the Old Farm Estates developers who contributed the two–acre parcel, where the well site will be located, towards the project.
We are now in the process of setting a date for a test well to be drilled, to make sure the site contains sufficient clean water for the main well to be successful. The engineers and the hydrologist have indicated that we should have no problems. If so, then we will proceed with drilling the main well and the construction of the storage tank. I will continue to keep you apprised as to our progress. Thanks again for the opportunity to serve you and meet the city’s obligations.
