TREE & BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE: For the past several
years, colorful flowers have brightened Sugar City’s main street during
the summer months. These flowers are planted and tended by people
who care about our city and want it to look its very best, but these
flowering barrels and hanging pots don’t just happen.
There is a need for funds to purchase the flowers and this is where
each family in Sugar City can play a part. If each family in our
community would contribute $5.00 to the city flower fund we would
have sufficient to buy the flowers which add to so much to our city.
Please take time to discuss this matter with your family and make your contribution so that we can all take pride in our community. If you could include your donation in an envelope marked FLOWER FUND with this month’s utility payment, it would be greatly appreciated.
GARBAGE PICKUP: Because of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, garbage pickup for that week will be Friday, May 29.
TETON DAM MARATHON: The Teton Dam Marathon is coming up Saturday, June 13. More information can be found at www.dammarathon.com.
COMPLAINTS: If a complaint needs action to be taken, please fill out a complaint form at the office or bring in a signed and dated explanation to the city office.
THANK YOU! Thank you for keeping your yards clean and alleyways clear. We appreciate your efforts. Also, there is a large dumpster by the city shop next to the fire station to use at your convenience. Please, no household garbage.
WATER CONSERVATION IDEAS: Landscape using native plants and less lawn! The city has a hand out at the office for those interested.
I have had the opportunity to walk and drive all the streets in Sugar City this spring. I’m proud to represent citizens who take such pride in the way your yards and gardens look. If we are wise in how we use our water this year, there should be plenty to keep everything green. I’ve attended lot of meetings the last few months about water issues; it’s a concern on the minds of all cities. I’ve felt some times that I would like to wave a magic wand and make everything perfect for everyone, but have not yet been able to make it happen. We’ll keep trying. May all of you mothers have a special Mother’s Day!
