The City has engaged the services of The Development Company to do an income survey of its citizens in order to qualify for some potential grant funds, which might offset some of the costs of the new well and tank. There will be people canvasing our neighborhoods to obtain this information the 10’h through the 27th °’ May. Please help the city by participating in the survey. Thank you!
GARBAGE PICKUP: Because of Memorial Day on Monday, May 29th, garbage pickup for that week will be Saturday, June 3rd
SPRING CLEANUP: The city has set a date of May 8th to start spring cleanup. Please wait for city wide clean-up to put out garbage to help prevent the wind from blowing garbage around our dty. To help those of you that would like to start your yard clean-up early, the dumpster on the west side of town just north of the old elevator is now available for use. Reminder: Household garbage is not allowed at the dumpster.
**HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION DATES**: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day for Madison County residents is coming up on May 24th (Wednesday) and 25th (Thursday). The collection will take place at the Madison County Transfer Station at 530 Airport Road in Rexburg from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30p.m. For questions call 208-356-3102. This service is free of charge. The next collection dates are August 23n1 & 24th.
“REMINDER**: If you didn’t have a test on your sprinkler system backflow preventer done last year, please have one done this year and bring your report into City Hall. This is necessary to ensure that contamination of the water supply will not happen in the event of a pressure loss to the water system. Thank you to those that have alieady brought in test results!

The Mayor and Council have long been concerned about the safety of our school children as they go to and from school. Last summer we extended the sidewalk from Heritage Park to the High School. This spring we are installing three pairs of flashing lights to protect the most used school crossings on Center street. They will be located at the corners of Pine Avenue, Park Avenue, and Cutler Avenue on Center Street. These lights are solar powered and are activated by a button. We also installed 10 handicapped corners on Center street. The City is interested in hearing from you about other areas that could use safety improvements to protect our school children and the elderly.
The City will be finalizing its water study on the 27th of April, and considering a project to improve and enhance our water system. This may necessitate the sale of a Bond to fund the project. In order to do this, there would have to be a vote in November during our regular city elections.
