THANKSGIVING DAY: We wish everyone a special Thanksgiving and hope you have a nice day. We all have so much to be thankful for

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING IN HERITAGE PARK: On Friday, December 3rd, at 6:00 p.m., we will be holding our annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony. There will be carols, treats, and neighborliness. Dress warm, come early, and bring a smile.

STOP WATERING: October 31st was the last day to water and keep it from being calculated into your average sewer usage. Our water reading is done for the year. To keep your sewer portion of the utility bill low, don’t start watering until after we read meters again. This is usually the end of April depending on the snow. We will announce when to water again in this newsletter or you can call city hall.

OVERNIGHT PARKING: Just a reminder of our snow ordinance – no parking is allowed on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 o’clock midnight and 7 o’clock a.m.

GARBAGE PICKUP: Because of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 25, garbage pickup for that week will be Friday, November 26. City Hall will be closed November 25 and 26 for the holiday.

ALLEYWAYS ARE CITY PROPERTY: Nothing is to be put in the alley except for two weeks before fall and spring cleanup. Maintenance crews have reported vehicles, trailers and items that residences are “storing” in the alley preventing them from driving through as well. In the future, these items will be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense. Anything found in the alley may be removed by the city in order to keep these paths clear and a citation may be issued at any time during the year. Rubbish from other properties is not to be brought to a different property for the city to pick up during cleanup. Remember you are paying for the cleanup to keep our city beautiful and these things just add to the cost you will pay.
