November 2013

Dear Sugar City Residents:

THANKSGIVING DAY:  We wish everyone a special Thanksgiving and hope you have a nice holiday.  We all have so much to be thankful for.

VETERANS DAY:  Take time to remember and thank those veterans who have served and defended us so we can live happy and free.  There is a Veterans Memorial Ceremony at Smith Park in Rexburg at 12 noon on November 11.  The public is invited.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING:  The tree lighting ceremony is December 2nd at Heritage Park at 6 p.m. by the gazebo. Come and enjoy a short program with hot chocolate and cookies.

WATCH FOUND:  A watch has been found in the park.  Please come to city hall to identify.

GARBAGE PICKUP:  Because of Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, November 28, garbage pickup for that week will be Friday, November 29.  City Hall will be closed November 28 and 29 for the holiday.

OVERNIGHT PARKING:  Just a reminder of our snow ordinance – no parking is allowed on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.m.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS:  The sidewalk construction in front of City Hall has been completed, including the installation of a heating mat accessing the front doors.  The storage building at the west end of “C” Street is under construction and should be completed in the next 30 days.
