NEW UTILITY PAYMENT PROVIDER:

As of November 1st, the City of Sugar City has a new

online payment provider, Xpress Bill Pay. The switch was

made to provide you with many new and enhanced

features like full bill presentation, paperless billing,

billing history, auto pay, stored payment info and email notifications. You will be directed to  the new website when you select the “NEW – Xpress Bill Pay Online Payments” red tab on the  city’s website at www.sugarcityidaho.gov or you can access Xpress Bill Pay  at https://xpressbillpay.com/#/?org=sugarcity10859.

You will need to visit the site to establish an account. If you had paperless billing or auto pay previously set up with PSN or with City Hall, you will need to re-establish this. If you  were not set up for paperless billing, we encourage you to do so.

A First Time Users’ Manual is available at www.sugarcityidaho.gov under “New User Sign Up  Instructions” for setting up your new Xpress Bill Pay account, paperless billing, auto pay and  to make payments. If you have any questions you can reach Xpress Bill Pay via email  at support@xpressbillpay.com or via telephone at 800-766-2350.

TREATS IN THE STREETS: The city would like to give a big thanks to all of the vendors,  sponsors and participants in the city’s first Fall event, “Treats in the Streets”! It was an amazing  success and so much fun watching children and adults dressed up and having a great time.

FINAL FALL CLEANUP: Our fall cleanup was on October 17th. Thank you to those that followed the guidelines in this effort. In total, 45 truck loads were hauled away. Do not place anything, anytime in alleys from now on. Alleys have been used to put campers, trailers, fire wood and  other debris in. Please remember that these city easements are for utility services, city equipment and emergency equipment only. To avoid  $150 fine, please park and place all personal items on your own property, not in alleys.

Storing debris on streets or alleys is a violation of city code 3-1-13:A.

Storing items on streets or alleys is a violation of city code 6-1-2:A.

FALL TREE PRUNING: While trimming your trees and bushes this fall, please remember to trim along the streets and back off  of street signs. Branches along streets must be trimmed 12 feet up off the ground. Bushes along streets must be trimmed down  to a height of no more than 3 feet. Thank you!

UTILITY RATE CHANGES: There is a 5.9% Cost of Living Rate Increase to sewer, water and garbage. The changes will be on your November  utility bill. There is an increase of $.06 from $0.96 to $1.02 per thousand gallons for water. There is an increase of $0.20 from $3.47 to $3.67 per thousand gallons for sewer. Water and sewer base fees will remain the same. Residential garbage can is increasing from $16.00 to $16.20  per month. A second can increase from $12.00 to $12.16. The fall clean-up base fee of $3.60 has been discontinued due to the removal of the  city dumpster and city clean up service.

VETERANS DAY: Take time to remember and thank veterans who have served to preserve freedoms.

HOLIDAY CLOSURES: City Hall will be closed November 11th in observance of Veterans Day and the office will  close at noon November 23rd through November 25th in observance of Thanksgiving.

HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICK-UP: Garbage will be picked up on Saturday, November 26th, due to Thanksgiving.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING: Mark your calendars! The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is Monday,  December 5th at Heritage Park at 6 p.m.

SNOW REMOVAL: Keep cars uncovered from snow and parked back off of roads to eliminate being clipped by the snowplows.

OVERNIGHT PARKING: Reminder of our snow ordinance – no parking on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the  hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.m.

DOG LICENSE REMINDER: Dog tags are currently available at city hall. The cost is $15 per pet lifetime. Make sure your pets are licensed. If  you have a photo of your pet to put on file this would also be helpful if they are lost.

BUSINESS LICENSE REMINDER: Business licenses expire Dec 31st. Commercial licenses are $20.00. Home businesses are $10.00. You may  send in a check to pay for your license and a new license will be mailed to you. (Do not combine with utility payment; it must be a  separate check.)
