TREATS IN THE STREETS: The city would like to give a big thank you to the following sponsors of the city’s fall event, “Treats in the Streets”: Rocky Mountain Power Maupin Welding, Dickinson Frozen Foods, Showcase Interiors, SunGlo, Sugar Family Dental, Propeat/Pocock Trucking We also want to thank the following businesses for their donations: Good Time Rentals, Costco, Fixxology, Walmart, Del Taco & Fat Cats We appreciate the vendors and volunteers who participated and the  community for coming out to support the event. It was a great success! 

PLANNING AND ZONING PUBLIC HEARINGS: to be held on Nov. 16th at  7:00 pm regarding requests for Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment,  Zone Change, Event Center, and Parking Plan Approval and requests for Annexation and Zoning. Contact city hall for more information. 

HOLIDAY CLOSURES: City Hall will be closed November 10th in observance of Veterans Day and the office will close at noon November 22nd – November 24th in observance of Thanksgiving.  

HOLIDAY GARBAGE PICK-UP: Garbage pickup will be on Saturday,  November 25th, due to Thanksgiving. 

VETERANS DAY: Take time to remember and thank veterans who have served to preserve freedom. 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING: Mark your calendars! The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is Monday, December 4th at Heritage Park at 6 p.m. 

UTILITY RATE CHANGES: There is an 8.7% Cost of Living Rate Increase to sewer, water and garbage. The changes will be on  your November utility bill. The monthly water base fee will increase from $40.00 to $43.48; the monthly sewer base fee will  increase from $22.97 to $24.97. There is an increase of $.09 from $1.02 to $1.11 per thousand gallons of water usage. There is an increase of $0.32 from $3.67 to $3.99 per thousand gallons for sewer. A residential garbage can is increasing from $16.20 to $17.61 per month. A second can increases from $12.16 to $13.22. 

SNOW REMOVAL & OVERNIGHT PARKING: Keep cars uncovered from snow and parked back from roads to eliminate being  clipped by the snowplows. Reminder of our snow ordinance – no parking on city streets from December 1st through March 1st, between the hours of 12 midnight and 7 a.m. If there is a snow event before the first of December, please move your  vehicles off the roads to allow the snowplows to do their jobs more efficiently. 

DOG LICENSE REMINDER: Dog tags are currently available at city hall. The cost is $15 per pet lifetime. Make sure your pets  are licensed. If you have a photo of your pet to put on file this would also be helpful if they are lost. 

BUSINESS LICENSE REMINDER: Business licenses expire Dec 31st. Commercial licenses are $20.00 and home business licenses are $10.00. You may send in a check to pay for your license and a new license will be mailed to you. (Do not combine with utility payment; it must be a separate check.) 

REMINDER: Do not place anything in alleys. These city easements are for utility services, city equipment and emergency  equipment only. To avoid a $150 fine, please park and place all personal items on your own property, not in alleys. Storing debris on streets or alleys is a violation of city code 3-1-13:A. Storing items on streets or alleys is a violation of  city code 6-1-2:A.
