CITY CLEANUP: Fall cleanup will start October 15. We will start on the southwest corner of town and then move east and then start on the north side of town on the west and move east. Since it is expensive for the crews to backtrack, we will be unable to accommodate backtrack requests. Due to regulations, please be reminded first, we cannot pick up leaves and grass clippings unless they are bagged. Second, we cannot pick up large projects such as remodeling materials, roofing, large pieces of concrete, tires, paint, chemicals, batteries, and used oil. Please cut tree limbs to tenfoot lengths, or less. In an effort to cut costs for the citywide cleanup, we are testing the idea of having a dumpster in the city property by the grain silo for yard waste during September and October for those who prefer to deposit their yard waste in the dumpster. Please remove all vehicles and trailers from alleys and have everything ready for pickup by October 12. Again, we are attempting to reduce the costs of citywide cleanup and we would appreciate your support so that we can continue this service

UTILITIES INCREASES: As we explained last year, it has become necessary to impose a modest rate increase in sewer and water in 2013 1% on water and 2% on sewer treatment, as levied by the City of Rexburg. Please be advised that the 2013 fiscal year begins October 1, 2012. If these modest increases are not sufficient to cover all costs, the savings accounts in the respective areas can step up to support any over run of the projected budget. We are making a serious effort to hold the line on all city expenses and make the money we have go as far as we can

BURNING IN CITY: Burning yard waste in the city is strongly discouraged as this smoke is distasteful to neighbors, and especially because smoke from fires can become hazardous to the health of some people. Please, no backyard fires. Be respectful of your neighbors. The reason for twiceayear citywide cleanup is to eliminate burning
