Dear Sugar City Residents:

START OF SCHOOL:  School has started.   We caution everyone to drive carefully and watch for children.

JOB OPENING:  Part-time receptionist needed.  Inquire at city hall.

SIGHT OBSTRUCTIONS:  The city has many trees hanging low in intersections and alleys where growth has taken up part of the alley.  City Code section 9-6-7(A)-5a addresses the clear vision triangle as follows:  “The clear vision triangle is defined by a straight line connecting points forty feet (40’) back from roadway and/or railroad edges where they cross each other at the intersection.  Trees shall be pruned so as to not obstruct the clear vision triangle.    Shrubs and ground covers within the vision triangle shall not exceed forty two inches (42’) in height at maturity.” If your trees are in violation, please help by getting them trimmed to alleviate the problems.

CURFEW:  Another reminder of our curfew ordinance.  The curfew is for all minors and is in effect between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, beginning on Sundays and running until Thursdays of each week; and from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

BIKE PATH:  The bike path will soon be completed except for the bridge across the canal.  Officially the bike path will not be open for use until November when the bridge will be built.
