START OF SCHOOL: School has started. We caution everyone to drive carefully and watch for children.
GARBAGE PICKUP: Because of Labor Day on Monday, September 6, garbage pickup for that week will be Friday, September 10.
CURFEW: A reminder that we have a curfew
ordinance. The curfew is for all minors and is in effect between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. the next day, beginning on Sundays and running until Thursdays of each week; and from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. the next day on Saturday and Sunday mornings (commonly known as Friday and Saturday nights from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.).
TREE AND BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE: The Tree and Beautification Committee has set up a program that recognizes well-kept yards and gardens in the city. A committee of judges was formed, and the city was divided into four sections with an award for a yard and one for a garden in each section. The committee has given eight awards for the month of August. You can see the award signs, saying “We love your yard” or “We love your garden” at the following addresses.
